Glowing Campfire doesn't mean your fire can't get even warmer

It means you've built something really meaningful around your fire. There is warmth here. There are people who know you, people you know deeply, and relationships that have been given enough time and attention to become part of the fabric of your life. You've probably learned something a lot of people are still trying to figure out: connection doesn't just happen.

You make the plan. You ask the question. You remember the little things. You show up. You let people show up for you. And along the way, all of those ordinary moments started becoming a village. That's worth celebrating.

But here's what's really beautiful about a Glowing Campfire: When your own fire is warm, you have warmth to give. You get to start looking beyond “Do I have the connection I need?” and notice the people around you who might still be looking for theirs. The newer friend. The person standing just outside the circle. The two people you know would love each other if someone introduced them. The friend who's going through a season where she doesn't have much capacity to initiate.

Your answers suggest that you already know how to create meaningful connection. Now you get to think about what kind of warmth you want to create around you.

How Do I Even Strengthen My Fire?

At Glowing Campfire, strengthening your fire probably isn't about trying harder at friendship. It's about using the connection you've already built with even more intention. That might look like making room for one more person at the table. Introducing two friends who should know each other. Checking on the person who's usually the one checking on everyone else. Creating traditions that give your people a reason to keep coming back together. Or being the person who notices when someone is standing just outside the circle and pulls up another chair. It also means continuing to tend the people who helped make your fire warm in the first place. Growing your village doesn't always mean making it bigger. Sometimes it means making the people already in it feel even more seen, known, and valued. A Glowing Campfire already creates warmth. Your opportunity now is to be intentional about where that warmth goes.

Three things your Glowing Fire needs you to know

Make Room for one more chair

When you already feel connected, it's easy to stop noticing the people who don't. Look around the edges of your fire. Who keeps showing up but hasn't quite found their place yet? Who have you been meaning to invite? Who might be hoping someone else will go first? You don't have to become everyone's best friend. Sometimes creating belonging is simply saying, “There's room for you here.”

Don't forget the people who have built the fire with you

It's exciting to welcome new people, make introductions, and create community but don't let expanding your circle pull your attention away from the relationships that helped create the warmth you're enjoying now Keep checking in. Keep making the plan. Keep saying the appreciative thing out loud. Keep creating ordinary moments with the people who have been there all along. A glowing fire still needs tending.

Let your connection create more connection

One of the coolest things about having a strong village is realizing that your relationships don't have to stop with you. Introduce people. Bring different circles together. Invite someone into something that's already happening. Create the dinner, the walk, the game night, the group text, or the ordinary Tuesday where people who might never have crossed paths get the chance to know each other. Sometimes the best thing you can do with a warm fire is help someone else find their way to it.

Now that you know your fire is glowing, you might be wondering, what do I even work on from here?

Keep creating warmth.

Seriously.

You don't need to overhaul your relationships. You get to become more intentional about the warmth you're already creating. Another invitation. Another introduction. Another check-in. Another chair pulled up to the table. Another moment where someone gets to feel remembered, included, or deeply known. The problem is... when connection comes naturally to you, it's easy to stop noticing all the little things you're doing that actually create it. So I took the figuring-it-out part off your plate with my 30-Day Campfire Challenge!

For the next 30 days, you'll get one small, doable way to intentionally tend your relationships, create more moments of meaningful connection, and use the warmth you've already built to make the whole fire a little brighter.
