From Burnout to Aligned Breakthrough: My Conversation with Chelsey on All Things Excellence

When Chelsey invited me to join her on her podcast, All Things Excellence, I had no idea just how much the conversation would impact me. I thought we’d simply talk about my journey and The Savor Society, but what unfolded was a deep dive into all the layers of who I am, the countless hats I’ve worn over the years, and the permissions I’ve given myself along the way.

The episode is titled From Burnout to Aligned Breakthrough and that title couldn’t be more true to my story.

As Chelsey and I talked, I began to realize just how many different roles I’ve tried on in my life. Each “hat” I’ve worn, whether it was stepping into entrepreneurship, diving into creative pursuits, pouring into family life, or venturing into new industries, wasn’t wasted.

At times, I used to see all of those shifts as inconsistency, but during this conversation, I finally recognized them as layers of growth. Every pivot, every start-over, every new pursuit taught me something I needed to know to eventually step into alignment.

One of the biggest takeaways from being on Chelsey’s podcast was realizing just how layered I am. I’m not just one thing. I’m a connector, a creator, a wife, a mom, a facilitator, and a dreamer who’s willing to try, fail, and try again.

Chelsey has a gift for pulling out truths you didn’t even know you were holding inside. Through her questions, I started to see how each layer of my story fits together. What once felt like scattered puzzle pieces actually forms a clear picture when you zoom out.

A theme that kept coming up during our conversation was permission.

I’ve had to give myself so many permissions over the years:

  • Permission to pivot when something no longer felt aligned.

  • Permission to pause when burnout hit hard.

  • Permission to create something entirely new, even if it didn’t make sense to anyone else.

  • Permission to let go of expectations, old stories, or titles that didn’t serve me anymore.

Saying those permissions out loud on the podcast felt like releasing weight I didn’t even know I was carrying. And I realized how powerful it is to declare that you’re allowed to start over, shift, or slow down without guilt.

One of the most beautiful parts of this experience was remembering how clarity so often comes through conversation. When someone truly listens, asks the right questions, and creates space for honesty, you discover pieces of yourself you hadn’t yet named.

That’s exactly what happened with Chelsey. By the end of our conversation, I felt seen, understood, and reminded that my journey, no matter how winding has been worthwhile.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve tried “too many things” or worn “too many hats,” I hope you’ll take this as encouragement: nothing is wasted. Every chapter is preparing you for the next one.

And maybe, just like me, you need to give yourself permission. Permission to pivot. Permission to pause. Permission to create something new.

I’d love for you to listen to the full episode with Chelsey, it’s called From Burnout to Aligned Breakthrough on her podcast, All Things Excellence. You can listen to it here.

And after you do, ask yourself:

  • What hats have I worn that shaped me?

  • What layers of me am I just starting to uncover?

  • What permission do I need to give myself today?

Because sometimes, the greatest breakthroughs come when we stop waiting for someone else to give us the green light and we finally give it to ourselves.
